Frock coat

Here's the beginning of Mr Bunny's frock coat - an extra large man's shirt, bought from the same charity shop as the YSL shirt. Better still, it didn't cost anything as they had a 'BOGOF' offer on! I'm planning on removing the cuffs and collar, creating a v neck and shaped front hem, with tails at the back and some pleats, then adding a suit jacket type collar. Wish me luck!

Waistcoat finished

Not come out too bad, I think. The seams aren't perfect, but as I'm only going to wear it once and I'm hand sewing as I watch TV, I'm not too fussed. Added pockets because its always handy to have somewhere to put things! The top pocket is just a patch, to cover up the YSL label - don't think rabbits are really into designer stuff :)

Waistcoat time

Got a bargain in the charity shop - a man's red YSL shirt for £2, just perfect for reshaping into the bunny's waistcoat.

Ears. Done.

Well that didn't take long! Ears covered in t-shirting, and re-sewn the fur back on. They do feel a little top heavy on, so might have to sew a bit of elastic on to keep them secure.

Ear, Ear - stage one

Starting at the top, with some lovely ears. Purchased these fetching yellow ears from the Easter section in the £ shop. The plan is to remove the feathery fur from round the outside, then cover the whole thing with an old white t-shirt (which didn't cost anything, as it was a donation).

Starting at the very beginning...

At the end of June 2014 I'll be taking part in a parade, dressed as the White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (hereafter known as 'Alice in Wonderland'...) I do have access to a big white furry rabbit costume, which could be customised with a waistcoat, watch etc, but as the parade is in June I'm afraid the thought of heat stroke (or with the good old British weather, drowning!) has put me off, so have decided to make a complete costume, which will be as lightweight as I can make it. And also as cheap as I can make it too!
